Over the hot January days, a dedicated team of volunteers donned backpacks and carried water down to the Wetland to give our newly planted area a much-needed drink. It made a huge difference to the survival of the nearly 3,000 tube stock planted over the last two years.
We are now nearing the end of the project, with around 2,000 tube stock still to be planted — and we are looking for as many volunteers as possible to help us get them in the ground.
Final planting days
Join us at one of our final working bees:

Celebrating the project: join us on Sunday 28 June
To celebrate the completion of this exciting project, we are hosting a community event on Sunday 28 June at 2.30pm. We will walk to the wetlands to see what has been achieved, hear a short presentation about the project, and finish with afternoon tea. Everyone is welcome.
The Blackburn Lake Wetlands Regeneration Project is supported by the Victorian Government through the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action’s Green Links program.
