The Visitor Centre is open most Sundays from 2 pm to 4 pm, and is staffed by volunteers.
Everyone is welcome to drop into the Visitor Centre. You can discover a wealth of information and interesting displays about the Sanctuary and local plants and animals. There are child-friendly displays, activities and books. Children should be accompanied by adults at all times.

What can you do at the Visitor Centre?
Meet some of the creatures who call the Sanctuary home.
Learn about the local Indigenous history and culture.
Find out about the history and development of the Sanctuary.
Pick up a guide to the plants and animals of the Sanctuary and local area.

Speakers & special events
The Visitor Centre also hosts speakers and special events, including:
- Regular (usually monthly) speakers on environmental and associated topics.
- Special events, such as the Litter Action Project and Wetlands Regeneration Project.

The Community Education Program is organised and led by volunteers associated with the Blackburn Lake Sanctuary Advisory Committee.
